Teacher Housing Initiative
Creating affordable housing solutions that help Gardiner Public Schools recruit and retain teachers and staff.
North Yellowstone Education Foundation has a solution.
Gardiner is facing a serious housing crisis. Through the 2019 Successful Gardiner Campaign, affordable housing was identified as the top concern among residents, and the local market continues to make it difficult for school employees to find stable housing.
This challenge directly affects Gardiner Public Schools’ ability to hire and retain teachers and staff. NYEF’s Teacher Housing Initiative was created to help address that need with practical, long-term solutions.
Since 2020, NYEF has worked to transform existing housing into affordable units for educators and staff. That work has included converting a historic building into multiple units, adding additional housing in a second property, and continuing to expand capacity in partnership with the school.
By creating affordable, quality housing, NYEF helps strengthen staffing stability and supports a stronger learning environment for Gardiner students.
