Why NYEF Was Needed
Gardiner Public Schools faced years of declining enrollment, which created growing pressure on school funding while many of the school’s core expenses remained the same. Community members recognized that maintaining strong educational opportunities in Gardiner would require support beyond traditional school funding.
The North Yellowstone Education Foundation was created to help fill those gaps, strengthen community partnership, and support long-term excellence for students, teachers, and families connected to Gardiner Public Schools.

Today, NYEF supports Gardiner Public Schools through fundraising, community partnerships, teacher housing, educational grants, and mental health initiatives. What began as a local effort to protect the strength of a rural school has grown into a lasting investment in the future of Gardiner.
